IEEE Harbin ComSoc Chapter Academic Activities : Invited Talks by Prof. Tony Quek and Prof. Jiangzhou Wang
On December 21st, at the invitation of Prof. Meng Weixiao and Associate Prof. Chen Shuyi from IEEE ComSoc Harbin Section, Prof. Tony Quek, a Fellow of IEEE and Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore, Cheng Tsang Man Chair Professor with Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and Prof. Jiangzhou Wang, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the IEEE, Fellow of the IET, honorary professor of HIT, and professor at the University of Kent, UK, gave distinguished lecturer talks online. The detailed information of the lectures are as follows:
Title 1:
Ready to talk about 6G?
Date and Time:
15:30-17:00,Dec 21st,2023
Abstract:
With 5G cellular technologies now beginning to be deployed around the world, the research community has embarked on the pathway to define the sixth generation (6G) wireless system to be deployed in the year 2030. The market demands of 2030 and beyond will likely introduce new applications, with more stringent requirements (in terms of ultra-high reliability, capacity, energy efficiency, and low latency. In this talk, we will share about some technology trends, current 5G systems, and our views about 6G. In addition, we will also share our 6G perspective and our national strategy towards research investment in this area.
Title 2:
Network-based Integrated Sensing and Communications
Date and Time:
18:00-19:30,Dec 21st,2023
Abstract:
With the advent of the era of 6G mobile communications, the integration of several core technologies such as sensing and communication has become inevitable. But network-based integration faces many challenges. What are technical challenges? This lecture will explore these open questions.
