On December 17th, at the invitation of Prof. Meng Weixiao and Associate Prof. Chen Shuyi from IEEE ComSoc Harbin Section, Prof. Peter Han Joo Chong, a Full Professor and an Associate Head of the School (Research), School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand gave distinguished lecturers talks online. The detailed information of the lectures are as follows:

Title 1

Overview of Smart Mobility Research

Date and Time:

10:00-11:00, Dec 17th, 2024

Abstract:

This talk will introduce smart mobility research on V2X technologies. At the end, the real V2X testing will be shown.

Title 2:

A Joint Physical-Layer Network Coding Based Medium Access Control

Date and Time:

11:00-12:00, Dec 17th, 2024

Abstract:

Vehicular network plays a crucial role in intelligent transportation system. It can provide road safety by broadcasting Basic safety message (BSM). Based on the framework of Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC), this paper proposes an efficient and reliable MAC protocol for BSM packets dissemination in last-mile vehicular networks from the train station. It perfectly integrates Physical-Layer Network Coding (PNC) and Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC) in both roadside unit (RSU) and onboard unit (OBU) nodes. Comprehensive simulation shows that compared with the existing schemes for BSM dissemination, the proposed protocol achieves both high flexibility and excellent performance in packet delivery ratio (PDR).
